The present article aims to develop a market study regarding the demand for ethanol derived from potatoes as a raw material for the production of goods in the pharmaceutical, disinfection, liquor, and cosmetic activities in the city of Tulcán in 2022. A mixed research approach was used, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional research level, field research type, and descriptive, explanatory research level. Regarding the results, it can be indicated that the supply of ethanol comes directly from other provinces of the country to the establishments that require the raw material. Finally, it can be concluded that the production of ethyl alcohol based on potato derivatives is a feasible alternative to promote innovation, high-quality raw materials produced in the area, which will boost the first and second-level market in the business value chain.
