Abstract

The Municipality of Puerres located to the south east of the department of Nariño, is an eminently agricultural region that currently produces approximately 60 tons of garbage monthly, it does not have a filling, and not with a recycling and composting plant; inadequate management of solid waste, today, is one of the main factors affecting the deterioration of the environment, while aggravating the climate change situation; taking into account the foregoing, this project aims to make full use of the waste by means of an appropriate process of: collection, storage, sorting and processing of waste, generating a positive economic, social and environmental impact, in line with the sustainable development goals proposed by the United Nations (UN). The general objective of the research is to carry out a study to determine the feasibility for the implementation of a recycling and composting plant in the municipality of Puerres, department of Nariño. The methodology applied to the present study is based on a quantitative paradigm, of descriptive type, with empirical analytical approach and deductive method. The population under study is the 3,197 families existing in the municipality, of which a sample of 343 surveys applied to the urban and rural sectors. In the partial results, relevant information has been obtained about the market stage where the characteristics of the current market, characteristics of the products, among others, are defined. On the other hand, in the technical study the macro and micro localization of the project were defined, being respectively the Municipality of Puerres and the la Hacienda district
